IT Business Analyst
Position Summary
The IT Business Analyst plays a critical role bridging gaps between business needs and technology solutions. The primary responsibility of this role is to analyze and understand business processes, identify areas for improvement, and collaborate with IT, other departments and strategic vendors to design and implement effective solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, a willingness to learn, and a proven ability to execute projects to successful completion.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Business Process Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of current business processes, workflows, and systems. Identify areas for improvement to enhance operational efficiency.
- Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders, including business users and IT teams, to facilitate, gather, and document detailed business requirements. Develop clear specifications for bug resolutions, system enhancements, and new solutions.
- Solution Design: Work with technical teams and 3rd party vendors to design and recommend solutions that efficiently address business needs. Create process models, wireframes, and user stories to guide development.
- Testing and Validation: Develop and execute test plans to ensure solutions meet business requirements and quality standards. Coordinate user acceptance testing and address any issues or defects.
- Project Management: Assist in project planning and management activities. Track project progress, manage timelines, and ensure deliverables meet desired business outcomes.
- Documentation and Training: Prepare comprehensive documentation for system processes, user manuals, release notes and training materials. Provide training and support to end-users as needed.
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain regular communication with stakeholders to keep them informed of project progress, gather feedback, and manage expectations.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends and best practices. Recommend and implement improvements to business systems and processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Work experience may substitute for required education
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role
- Proven experience in requirements gathering, process analysis, and solution design
- Strong understanding of business process modeling and system development life cycle (SDLC)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in business analysis tools and methodologies (e.g., BPMN, UML)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all organization levels
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Monday) and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in business administration, information technology, or a related field
- Experience/background in the Direct Sales industry
- Experience with 3rd party integrations (e.g., payment gateways, email service providers, content systems)
- Experience with data analysis tools and analytics techniques (e.g., SQL, Excel, Power BI)
- Knowledge of Direct Sales specific systems and technologies (e.g., Commissions, ERP, CRM, Commerce, Mobile)
- Familiarity with software development and programming languages
- Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) a plus
- Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA) or Project Management (e.g., PMP)
